Biography

Lukashevich returns to Status Grand Prix for a second season in the GP3 Series, with ongoing support from Marussia Motors, the Russian supercar manufacturer which is also a co-owner and title sponsor of the Marussia Virgin Racing Formula 1 team.

The 19-year-old from Moscow enters the season with high hopes of getting into points-scoring positions after his learning year in 2010, during which he showed marked improvement. This learning process was compounded this winter when he competed in the four-event Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand, in which he scored his first international race victory.

Lukashevich came to GP3 after one and half seasons in the UK-based Formula Palmer Audi series in 2007-08. Under the wing of Marussia founder and leading Russian race driver Nikolai Fomenko for six years, Lukashevich was a multiple Russian karting champion before stepping into car racing for the first time aged 15 in the 2006 Benelux Formula Ford series. This led to his graduation to FPA, where in his second season he scored four podiums and two fastest laps, and ended the season in the top 10 of the points despite only competing in just over half of the events.
